Importance of nutrition…
The body requires many different vitamins and minerals that are crucial for both body development and preventing disease. These vitamins and minerals are often referred to as micronutrients. They aren’t produced naturally in the body, so you have to get them from your diet. A nutritional deficiency occurs when the body doesn’t receive the necessary amount of a nutrient or alternatively is not able to absorb the necessary amount of a nutrient.
Deficiencies can lead to a variety of health problems both major and minor. Minor health symptoms that may indicate deficiencies are things such as lack of energy, ongoing aches and pains, constipation, loose stools, split nails, brittle hair, mood swings, poor memory or focus, pre menstrual tension, skin rashes, dry skin, eczema, to name but just a few! Many people look for a diagnosis of some kind of health condition rather than examining the diet and with over 9 years experience as a Nutritional Therapist, I have seen so many issues resolved as a result of dietary changes whether that be as a result of food changes or supplements.
There are reasons why your body may be unable to absorb certain nutrients even if you’re consuming them, and this is another factor that needs to be considered in nutritional health. Ultimately, it’s possible to be deficient in any of the nutrients your body needs, dependent on your own individual circumstances.
Once this service is ordered, you will be sent some online questionnaires specifically designed by industry experts for you to complete. Your assessment involves answering questions based on regular symptoms that you have been experiencing. You complete these questions securely online and based on your answers, I will formulate a tailored report detailing the vitamins and minerals that have been identified as possibly sources of deficiency, the foods that you will find the nutrient in and possible adversaries that hinder the absorption of that nutrient. I will also include basic recommendations as to how to improve areas needing attention. Results are presented in a 45 minute zoom consultation with a documented report being forwarded after. Further support going forward is available if required.
Whilst this assessment is based on questions and answers only, if required, we can also order specific assessments via my lab partners who can supply blood kits for us investigate any areas of issue further if necessary.
It is important to understand that this assessment is not based on clinical health tests and should only be used as a guide to focus on areas that require your attention. General wellness can be addressed with lifestyle changes and coaching to ensure that you reach these goals and improve the areas that require priority.
If you have any health concerns, then always consult your GP in the first instance who will be able to investigate further.
